KATE BILYK ATELIER

kate bilyk is an architectural designer, entrepreneur, educator, and thinker. after a decade of working in the field of architecture, she has amassed a foundation of expertise that spans from building architectural objects to planning entire city blocks. her passion for building does not reside solely in design, but also in the processes of actual making, no matter the scale. simultaneously, she has always held a strong interest in the processes of thinking about the field of architecture and has worked on various research projects, exhibitions, conferences, archives, and has held teaching appointments. it is the pairing of making and thinking that lies as the foundation for the work of the atelier.

kate holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from california polytechnic university pomona and a master’s degree in architecture from princeton university. she has previously been part of the team at such offices as johnston marklee, barkow leibinger, casper mueller kneer and taught at princeton university and technical university in berlin.

currently, kate is teaching at the academy of art university and developing projects between berlin, germany and california, usa.
